We Must Pray for Ukraine and Plead with Vladimir Putin to recognize the sovereignty of Ukraine; for him to ask the Pro-Russian forces and civilians in Ukraine to give peace a chance. My heart is broken since I have friends on both sides of this conflict that is the dark reminiscence of World War II’s Ukrainian-Russian conflict, where more people died than anywhere in the world, including the Jewish Holocaust. Ukraine has one of the longest histories in the world of suppression. The world must recognize her right to sovereignty. The killing will only further open wounds of hostility and burn hatred into the minds and hearts of the lost soul’s loved one’s for the rest of their lives. Killing the innocent can never right a wrong. Killing the defenseless can never cure failed leadership. Killing the wrong people, that had no choice than to be where they were during the time of war, can never solve problems. The killing of civilians is never justified no matter the reason for the war. Never. The voices of the innocent cry in the shadows of war. We must not tolerate the slaying of innocent civilians, for either side, during the course of war. It is simply not acceptable in the 21st Century. No exceptions, no excuses. Period! We must stand for peace, for what else is there worth standing for? All we are saying, is give peace a chance.
